The new generation scooter of the country’s best selling scooter Honda Activa has been launched. Honda Activa 6G, the next generation model of Honda Activa 5G, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI), launched on 15 January.
The new Honda Activa 6G is powered by a 109cc engine with BS6 fuel emission standard. In this new engine, the carburetor has been replaced with FIS Technology (Fuel Injection System Technology). The Honda Activa 6G engine produces 7.68 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 8.79 Nm peak torque at 5,250 rpm. Honda claims that the Activa 6G will get 10 percent more mileage than the Activa 5G. However the power of 6G is slightly less as compared to the old model 5G. The BS4 engine of the older model Activa 5G produces 7.96hp of power.
The new Activa 6G has a new front apron as compared to the old model. In this, some changes have also been made on the back side with LED headlamps. The 6G’s side panels have also been tweaked. If seen, there is not much difference in the look of Activa 5G in Activa 6G. This scooter is available with a choice of 6 colors.
The new Activa 6G features a semi-digital instrument console. It has remote hatch opening, multi function key as well as other features. The new scooter has been given a new silent-start ACG motor, which the company first gave to the Activa 125 launched last year. The new Activa 6G has a longer seat and longer wheelbase than the older model.
The price of the new Honda Activa 6G is starting at Rs 63,912. The new scooter is available in two variants Standard and Delux. The price of the new Activa 6G is about 8 thousand rupees more than the old model i.e. Activa 5G.
Honda has started booking the Activa 6G. The company says that it will start delivery of its new scooter from late January or early February.
